Controlled release of harmful pesticide dichlorvos through synthesized biodegradable aloe vera–acrylic acid-based hydrogel and its utilization in soil water management

Abstract The present work deals with the synthesis of biodegradable hydrogel a natural polysaccharide aloe vera and vinyl monomer acrylic acid. In this synthesis, ammonium persulfate–glutaraldehyde was used as initiator-cross-linker system, acid backbone. Grafting confirmed by different techniques like SEM, FT-IR, XRD EDS. Maximum percentage swelling synthesized found to be 756%. Biodegradation behavior [Av-cl-poly(AA)] studied soil burial, composting vermicomposting methods. biodegradation 90%, 94% 93% in case methods, respectively. Av-cl-poly(AA) FT-IR SEM techniques. Water retention capacity prolonged from 11 20 days using Av-cl-poly(AA). content clay sandy loam increased an extent 6.1% 5.79%, Synthesized has been effective sustained release harmful pesticide dichlorvos. results showed that maximum dichlorvos 1024.34 ppm after 44 h.
